Lorraine (Lo) Bradshaw Manoukian went to be with the Lord on June 24, 2022. While at her home in Reno, Nevada, she passed peacefully, surrounded by family. She was 85 years old. Lorraine was born to Albert Nicholas Bradshaw Jr. and Wilma Johnson Bradshaw on October 14, 1936. She was the eldest of three children. The family lived in Goldfield, Nevada until moving to Tonopah, Nevada when she was 7. She was a tomboy in her youth as most young girls in a mining town might be, spending countless hours exploring the Nye County landscape with her father. She was an accomplished piano player at an early age. Lorraine attended Girl’s State and graduated from Tonopah High School in 1954. While attending Reno Business College, Lo met Milton Manoukian at a local gas station where he worked as an attendant. Milt and Lorraine were married at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tonopah on December 1, 1956. They lived in Washington DC while Milt attended law school. They started a family with the first of four boys, Craig, who was born in Reno in 1957. Paul was born in Washington, DC in 1960, Scott and Marko were born in Carson City, Nevada in 1962 and 1966, respectively. Eventually, Milt and Lorraine returned to Nevada and moved to 402 West Robinson Street in Carson City, in 1966. Lo cooked, cleaned, sewed, attended school functions and spent thousands of hours at sporting events following her boys. She cooked hundreds of meals to feed Milt’s boys’, clients, colleagues, and friends. Everyone was welcome when food was served at the Manoukian house. Outside of her family life, Lorraine also had many interests and accomplishments: She was the librarian at St. Teresa Catholic School in Carson City. Later in life she attended the University of Nevada Reno, graduating at the age of 52 with a degree in English and a minor in French. She traveled the world, most often with Milt, but also with many friends all of whom tell tales of how much fun they had with Lorraine. One such trip was to the Vatican, where she sang with the Our Lady of Snows choir at a saint beatification in front of Pope John Paull II. She loved to sew, knit, needlepoint and make stamping cards. She often made clothes for her children and grandchildren. Her needlepoint is world class and every child and grandchild has a hand-made custom designed stocking to hang on their Christmas mantel. Lorraine was the quintessential loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, mother-in law and grandmother. She adored her ten grandchildren and her twelve great-grandchildren. Additionally, she was a “hands-on” aunt to her many nieces and nephews and enjoyed much family time with all of them. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Milton Manoukian, brother Nick Bradshaw, father Albert Bradshaw Jr., and mother Wilma Bradshaw. She is survived by her brother Jerry Bradshaw, sons Craig (Elaine) Manoukian, Paul (Becky) Manoukian, Scott (Gail) Manoukian, and Marko (Linda) Manoukian; grandchildren Bryan (Stacy) Manoukian, Erin (Mark) Maffey, Robin (Ryan) Hawkins, Carissa (Casey) Bieroth, Jake (Meredith) Manoukian, Garrett Manoukian, Charlie Manoukian, Ben Manoukian, Troy Manoukian and Marley Manoukian; great-grandchildren Peter Maffey, Nicholas Maffey, Alessandra Maffey, Lukas Manoukian, Johanna Maffey, Mikah Manoukian, Khloe Manoukian, Elizabeth Hawkins, Carson Bieroth, Callahan Bieroth, Paisley Hawkins and Jack Manoukian. A Catholic Memorial Mass will be celebrated on October 14, 2022, at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 1250 Wyoming Ave, Reno, NV 89503, at 1pm in the afternoon. Lorraine’s ashes will be placed next to her beloved husband of 52 years, Milton, at the Columbarium, Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery, Reno, Nevada.
