My Hero Academia fans have many class, feat, and background options when building MHA characters in Dungeons and Dragons: 5th Edition.

My Hero Academia is a hit anime following super-powered high school students as they try to become Pro Heroes. The series awaits its sixth season on screen, but the manga has far outpaced the show. Because MHA is such an iconic anime, many fans may want to build a Dungeons and Dragons character based on MHA heroes.

Dungeons and Dragons: 5th Edition has many classes, subclasses, feats, and backgrounds to ensure players can create a custom build for their characters. From a Mage-Slaying Bladesinger that mimics Shouta Aizawa's quirk-erasing power and combat prowess to an Inspiring Leader and barbarian like All Might, there are many options for building an MHA hero in D&D.

Ochaco Uraraka's quirk allows her to make objects weightless. While this power does not provide a direct combat benefit, with crafty thinking, it can prove a tricky ability. Furthermore, Uraraka is not known for her endurance. There is a limit to how long she can use her quirk, and she gets no significant defensive boon from her powers.

The most apparent class and subclass choice for an Uraraka build is a Graviturgy wizard. Class abilities such as Adjust Density and Gravity Well allow players to change an object's weight and move them. The Telekinetic feat pairs best with this wizard subclass in making an Uraraka-inspired character, as it lets players pick up and move targets. Finally, Uraraka would likely take a reflavored version of the Urchin background, as she is clever with her money-making endeavors but is not a thief.

Momo Yaoyorozu's quirk is versatile and only limited by imagination, as she creates objects from her cells. She can fabricate ropes, weapons, tools, and all other useful gadgets at a moment's notice.

For this reason, Momo is either a Forge Domain cleric (who can imbue weapons with magic or craft non-magical items) or a Battle Smith artificer (who can create magical infusions or build a Steel Defender). Because Momo is at the top of her class and is crafty with her quirk's usage, she would take the Prodigy feat, which gives her extra proficiencies and Expertise. She would also take the Sage background, which buffs History and Arcana knowledge, to mimic her academic capabilities.

One for All (one of MHA's strongest quirks) collects the essences of its past wielders. As a result, the current user can access all subsequent wielders' quirks. One for All's most notable abilities are super strength and speed. The Ancestral Guardian barbarian is the best choice for class and subclass. These barbarians can call upon their ancestor's power and wisdom, just as Izuku Midoriya can with One for All.

Midoriya is also intelligent and can read others' quirks and battle strategies. So, he would likely have the Sage background. Furthermore, his ability to break down the enemy's tactics reminds fans of D&D's Observant feat.

Katsuki Bakugo is class 1-A's strongest member, thanks to his explosive quirk. A multiclass including the Path of the Berserker barbarian and an Evocation wizard would fit best. Berserkers can make extra attacks when Raging, and much like how the League of Villains couldn't sway Bakugo, Berserker barbarians cannot be charmed or frightened when Raging. Meanwhile, a School of Evocation wizard brings firepower. His build would likely take a few levels in Evocation wizard, then prioritize leveling in barbarian.

Since he can fight and cause explosions, a Bakugo build would have the War Caster feat (allowing him to fight with weapons and cast spells). Furthermore, he would take the Gladiator background because he loves a flashy spectacle, despite perhaps not admitting to it.

Tsuyu Asui, better known as Froppy, is one of MHA's many heroes who resemble animals. Her quirk gives her frog-like features such as heightened jumping skills, an extra-long tongue, and better movement in the water. There is no better class for an animal-inspired character than the druid, and Froppy would likely be a Circle of Land: Swamp druid. Druids can turn into animals using Wild Shape, and the Swamp druid has spells such as Water Walk and Freedom of Movement to further play upon the frog-like qualities.

Froppy is considered a series "best girl" and is a great hero with unimpeachable morals. So, she would take the Folk Hero background (which also buffs Animal Handling). Furthermore, she would take the Mobile feat to emphasize how she maneuvers a battlefield with ease.

Toru Hagakure's quirk is straightforward: she is invisible. Thus, the Illusion wizard is the perfect class and subclass, as these casters can turn invisible and create images by manipulating light. To further play upon this theme, she could take the Shadow Touched feat, which offers the Invisibility spell and another first-level spell from the Illusion or Necromancy schools.

Hagakure's quirk is better for reconnaissance than for fighting. Since Hagakure's quirk ranks among MHA's weakest, she needs to play up her strengths. To get the most use, players could give her the Criminal/Spy background (but focus on the Spy part). Doing so would buff the Deception and Stealth skills.

Hitoshi Shinso's quirk can mess with other characters' minds. So, the aptly named Aberrant Mind sorcerer would be the best choice when building a Shinso-inspired character. Aberrant Mind sorcerers focus more on reading minds than manipulating them, though they can do both if they choose the right spells. So, another way to imitate Shinso's Brainwashing quirk, which allows him to command other people, is to take the College of Eloquence bard. Abilities like Unsettling Words and Silver Tongue, in addition to spells such as Charm Person and Suggestion, are perfect for this build.

Since Shinso is training in combat with Eraserhead, he can take the Fighting Initiate feat. The Gambler background also works, as Shinso has gotten very lucky and has high Insight and Deception. Hitoshi Shinso is one of MHA's most unlucky characters, but he still bets on himself.

Eijiro Kirishima is one of Katuski Bakugo's best friends because they have similar personalities, and Kirishima's quirk allows him to endure any wayward explosions. Players can choose the Path of the Totem (Bear) barbarian to imitate Kirishima's rock-hard defenses. These characters are resistant to all damage except psychic when Raging. They also have advantage on certain Strength checks.

Kirishima would have the Heavily Armored feat, further increasing his Strength and allowing him to wear heavy armor (to stack his Armor Class). He would also take the Athlete background, which buffs the physical skills: Athletics and Acrobatics.

Shouta Aizawa, or Eraserhead, has one of the trickiest quirks, as it can erase an enemy's quirk for as long as he holds eye contact. On top of that, Eraserhead is a skilled fighter. So, he resembles a Bladesinger wizard, a class adept with magic but with ample battlefield control.

Since he is a threat to anyone with a quirk, he would have the Mage Slayer feat, which allows him to attack anyone within five feet of him who is in the process of casting a spell. It also imposes disadvantage on casters holding Concentration. Finally, this player would take the Investigator background to ensure their Investigation and Perception are as top-notch as his. He is among the most respected MHA Pro Heroes for his wit, power, and skill.

All Might had the same quirk as Midoriya, but he utilized it differently. From years of taking on villains, he would have levels in Battle Master fighter (who has many combat Maneuvers to ensure they are a terrifying foe with handy battlefield control) and the Ancestral Guardian barbarian.

Because All Might inspired generations of Pro Heroes and heroes in training, he would have the Inspiring Leader feat and the Folk Hero background. After all, he is a legend, and his presence makes heroes fight harder and more fervently. All Might is a fan-favorite MHA character in the show and in real life.
