MISSISSAUGA, ONT. — The Ontario government has announced it is contributing $1.5 million towards a $21.4-million plant expansion by aerospace production firm Cyclone Manufacturing.
Cyclone is a supplier of aerospace components and sub-assemblies with four plants in Milton and Mississauga. The expansion project will include robotics and will enable the company to undertake processing work that is currently performed outside of Canada.
The government contribution was announced by Ontario Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade Vic Fedeli at the Farnborough International Airshow in the U.K.
“Ontario is a place where global aerospace giants expand their operations and homegrown businesses produce quality parts and innovative services,” said Fedeli. “We’re proud to support this tremendous investment by Cyclone, which will help to grow and strengthen Ontario’s aerospace manufacturing capacity.”
Aerospace companies with operations in Ontario include Airbus, Bombardier, Collins Aerospace, De Havilland Aircraft of Canada, Diamond Aircraft, Heroux-Devtek, Honeywell Aerospace, L3 Harris, Leonardo, MDA, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Precision Castparts, Raytheon Technologies and Safran.
